Tonight is my second linguistics class (LING 200), and Tuesday evening was the first class. I really love linguistics and am looking forward to LING 200, but having three hours of class, from 7-10pm, is not fun. Since the class gets out so late, the only viable bus option is the 99 B-Line. Linguistics has become my new obsession! And I'm going to take Latin as one of my summer courses.

Do you know IPA?

Yup - I'm rusty, but I did it for an English language course a while back. It was a great course :) I did Latin at school - I think you'll like it!

I'm not really sure what to expect in my Latin class, but I love etymology, so I figure that Latin will help me with that sort of thing.

I wish I could find online dictionary sites for different languages that show you the IPA transcription of the word. It would be really useful in learning the correct pronunciation of Swedish, or whatever I want to learn.
