Tomorrow morning at 8:30am *I really hope the snow doesn't fuck up my commute* I have my immunology final exam. I'm really nervous about it because I didn't do too well on the midterm despite studying my ass off, and the final exam is going to be harder, because the professor who teaches the last half of the course expects us to memorize every ( Read more... )

knock 'em dead!! As for your morning commute - I'd leave about an hour early to account for the multitude of assholes on the road who've forgotten what slippery means and how to drive on roads described as such... While *I* didn't have any trouble driving at work tonight, I still saw one poor soul who'd bent their front right tire around the brake caliper and was limping their car home. By morning, I expect several thousand incidents of chaos to inflict themselves on the rest of the world...

It takes me about an hour to commute, and I regularly leave TWO hours before class starts, getting to school around 8:15am for my 9am/9:30am classes, because I don't trust our transit system. But this midterm starts at 8:30am. I am NOT getting up early enough to arrive at school by 7:30am. Hell no. The best I can do is leave at 7am. As long as the "snow" doesn't delay the buses for 45 minutes, I should be OK...

from the perspective of a teacher,
that seems rather pointless. have you
even got the feedback from the previous
summaries you did so you know if you have
a clue how to do it? i'm betting...NO.

profs really should have to step into
the education building and take a few of
those courses, especially ones on
"understanding by design".

GOOD LUCK!

We did get the summaries back. But we're doing different articles, and the difficult part is understanding and remembering the fucking articles! I am so pissed off because this is a huge waste of our time, and it was not mentioned on the course syllabus. In fact, the course syllabus mentions the chapters that are on the final exam, as well as the format of the exam--short answer questions, and how to answer the questions (point form is OK, etc). It makes NO mention of article summaries! I am positive that the second prof decided to copy the first prof and at the last minute decided to dump us with an article summary on the final exam. The first prof probably doesn't even know anything about it, and I have a feeling that she would think it's retarded as well.

ugh - i totally feel for you.

be sure to slam the second prof for
that on the evaluation as that is
just NOT COOL.

Unfortunately, they make the evaluations due BEFORE final exams. Now I know why!

The test ended up not being that bad in the end. In fact, I had an abundance of time, and was done an hour before the end. So I went to the bathroom and then spent the next 20 minutes slowly looking over every single question. My only complain about the test was, I learned so much information, some pretty major concepts such as how T and B cell proliferation is controlled, and no questions on it! It's like we were only tested on 5% of what we were told to "memorize". That pisses me off!

It's hard enough doing exams as it is but it's even worse when you're pissed off about it. Hopefully it will be over as soon as it started and everything goes well. Good luck!
