I understand what you mean about letting older fans get in on this, but really...you deserve to go, too. I'm sure you know this, but it's really not about who's been a fan for longer. I HATE the idea that some people think that if you haven't been a fan for very long, then you're not a real fan. I got into them during the StS era, and I used to HATE hearing about how I wasn't a REAL fan because I got into them during their first major studio album. So I say FUCK THAT SHIT! Exactly. I was slightly crushed when someone on the OMB said that one of the reasons why the ticket sale was handled the way it was, was to cut down on the number of new DFers getting tickets (which doesn’t make sense, strategically, if you ask me). When I saw that, I was like, "Hey! That's not very nice." However, it did make me think twice about trying for tickets. I mean, if I'm not wanted, then maybe I shouldn't go. But then I decided, "Fuck that, I shouldn't let other people guilt trip me into giving up my chance to go to this show, no matter who they are. I'm a fan, and I bought my tickets fair and square." Just because I haven't been around since the beginning doesn't mean I'm ignorant of the history and legacy of this band, or that I’m unable to appreciate the older songs

Are you SERIOUS about the people on the OMB saying that? Dear CHRIST. I would ask what the hell is wrong with people, but that would just be a waste of time. I get REALLY angry when I hear about things like this, people who act like they're so much *BETTER* than me because they found out about AFI before I did. Well, good for them, but I live in Indiana, which is GREAT if you like Nascar racing, but NOT if you want to find some good music. If it hadn't been for MTV, I would have never found out about them, and if I had never found out about them...I don't know where my life would be right now. Haha, I'll let you in on a little secret: it's not so much that I'm really smart, it's just that I hate being wrong, or maybe that I always think I'm right. I think my fear is that I'm not really as smart as I think I am, and people will call me on it. Speaking of horrendous educational systems, try California on for size. I think we rank like #42 in the U.S.
