I have to go clothes shopping this morning. I am procrastinating, because I do not like doing this. But I get myself into situations where I pretty much HAVE to do it or wear nothing. So.

Still looking for a house to buy. Haven't heard from landlord on the cool Southwestern house, but I'm very afraid there's something seriously wrong with it because it's so cheap. The listing has gone Inactive, so it's not like people are clamoring to buy it.

I need to look at more houses, but until I get the city's books caught up, one weekend day is spent doing that. Today, I need to plant the berries so they don't die before I can get them done. All portable, though, so I can move them.

I feel your shopping pain. I really need new shoes, so that's on today's list. Bleh - I *hate* shoe shopping.

Ooh, yikes. Yeah. I mean the housing market sucks, and even people who want to buy are having problems, because they can't sell their old house. But just make sure you have any house you want to buy inspected first. It does cost several hundred bucks, but it's SO worth it. Our inspector gave us a detailed verbal AND written report, plus ideas on how to improve the place. And if the foundation is crap or something, then you'd definitely want to know.

When Obama said we all should get out and refi if we can, I checked off that box. Just closed a few weeks ago on the refi. Lowered our payments by a boatload too. Nice to have that money in our pockets so we can redo our bathrooms that seriously need some work. They're gross.

I like clothes shopping. What I don't like is finding things that fit.

Excellent! I'd love to actually go out and find a new house, but I'm pretty sure trying to sell this one would be a huge pain. So. Alas.

The clothes shopping was mostly painless. I did find several pairs of jeans. Whew.

I'm in the same boat. I need new summer clothes for both work and play, but I just can't bring myself to go shopping. I haven't liked anything I've seen in the stores in a long time. Even shirts which should be relatively easy have been impossible. Whatever kind of neckline is in right now just doesn't work for me - if the shirt fits over my bust, it falls off my shoulders. Maddening.

Oh God, YES. I despise the new styles of tops. And you can't seem to find ANYTHING ELSE. I do winter really well, because I can layer, and sweaters never go out of style. But summer? Eesh. I found some jeans and shorts, but I avoided shirts. I have to find a few good shirts though, for going out. Bleah.

I would love to buy a house now. Sadly, given my brand of journalism, I don't think my job will ever be secure until it disappears and I've found a new career (because I just don't think there's going to be a lot of demand for "copy editors" who have kind of spotty grammar and only decent headline and print page design skills when things go all online.)

Eep! That does suck. I mean, the positive thing about this housing market is that you can find great houses dirt-cheap, but the less positive thing is that you need really good credit and a solid job in order to get a loan right now.
