I have to go clothes shopping this morning. I am procrastinating, because I do not like doing this. But I get myself into situations where I pretty much HAVE to do it or wear nothing. So.
Here are some random links for you:

anr. Those SVU fans who read my LJ and are not involved in LJ fandom at all will be especially interested in this. Go and read! It's angsty, well-written goodness! Leave

There is a new journaling service in town.
Dreamwidth.
I haven't said too much about it, because at least half of my flist already knows about it, and I think the other half probably will only be interested once it's up and running in it's final business state. But this is a journal site, based on LJ's code, run by USERS, not by a big, distant company.
synecdochic is a founding member, and
often has updates on the progress of the company. I will eventually be there in some capacity. I think it's a worthwhile idea and I will support it. I tend to think the L&O fandom will stay here though, so my fannish content will likely remain here. (I don't know, maybe some content will go there. I'm a huge fannish content-creator, obviously.) Plus, someone bought me a permanent account here, and I'm really easy-going when it comes to LJ. Really, the user-page debacle didn't bother me at all.
My content there (and I have an Open ID account there, but not an actual user account yet) will likely be based on more real life/different interests. But we'll see. It sounds as if Dreamwidth will be really compatible with LJ, so maybe my RPF will go there, and I'll link here. IDEK! But check it out, and keep up with the news, and if it's something you think you might like, then support them when the time comes!

In a bit of reality for Americans:
Obama says timing right for millions to refinance. Seriously. If you own a home and have a mortgage and haven't refinanced in a while, please look into it! Even if you have plenty of money and are doing fine, you can STILL improve your situation and get more disposable income. Interest rates are in the basement. If you've been thinking about buying a first house, and you're secure in your job, GO FOR IT. You can find a house for a bottom-line price right now.
(There's also an Obama program to help those who are in danger of losing their houses, but I know nothing about that. But if that's you, please contact your bank to see if you qualify.)
We've refinanced three times so far. The first time kept our payments the same, but took us from a 30 year mortgage to a 15. The next two times lowered our payments. We have an application in for a fourth time, but the banks are swamped with requests so it'll take a while. But our interest rate is locked in and it will lower our payment even more. Seriously. Some apartments cost more in rent than we'll be paying for our house.
Look into it if you haven't already.
