Okay, my silly little bout of costume angst last night resolved itself this morning. I really had a lot of fun today galavanting around the office dressed as Mrs. Lovett. For as strict and regimented as my company is about most things (and ESPECIALLY when it comes to the dress code), I'm grateful that my branch allows us to come to work in

you inspired me--i stayed up till midnight and wrote until 3:00.

...i didn't get the whole "sleeping late" thing down, however. i woke up around 9:00 and have been writing ever since. i'm at 5,198 words now. woo!

Yow! Major congrats are in order on that word count! Heh, I only wrote for an hour and a half last night, totaling 1,125 words, before passing out. Got my 9 hours of much-needed sleep (I'm in the terrible habit of staying up too late during the week, so I'm usually fried by the time the weekend rolls around), and once I have some lunch I'm going to sit down and get cracking for real on my story. My NaNo name is surioara. Heh, if you ever want to look me up on any site or forum, I'll be logged in as surioara 9 times out of 10. : ) As soon as they reinstate the author search option on the site, I'll add you as a buddy!

yay! i have another buddy!

this is the best nano start i've had yet. not exactly sure what's different... having a laptop so that i can be comfortable while writing, having a husband who is quite good at reminding me that i want to be writing (and supportive of my writing in general), having lots and lots of leftover halloween candy because we didn't have any trick-or-treaters... all add together for a good start. let's hope i continue this strong! :)
