I don't understand how you can read emotion or thoughts or whatever in someone's eyes ( Read more... )

I think it's partially what you think and partially just you probably lacking the sort of empathy that type of emotion can be read with ( ... )

--; And you couldn't have just said "I've seen emotions in animals and people. Just think of dogs and how you can read their eyes"?

Then I would have gone "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that! You're right!" in response.

I actually think it's a mixture of those two; some emotions I can read in someone's eyes, but some I can't. More intense emotions, like anger or joy, I think you can read by eye area alone. But the reading thoughts in someones' eyes bit? I've never experienced that. I mean, on someone's face, probably, but just their eyes?

Yeah, the thoughts thing always throws me for a loop. I mean, I can guess what someone's thinking when I know them well ... since everyone's got expressions and stuff they take on when they're thinking about certain types of things ... but actual thoughts. No, never seen those.
