books...

I have finished the first book of Twilight. It was actually better than I expected. And so far I do not have a desire to be Mormon, to make fangirl squees, to take emo pictures of myself, or to become celibate. So I guess that's a good thing.

I secretly really liked that first book. I knew it was trash, but I ate it right up.

I will keep silent about the rest of them, however.

Heh. I read trashy vampire novels. They can be fun. There's one author whose heroine is a poly zombie-raiser who happens to live with a wereleopard and a vampire. She also is involved with like 11 other people, AND she has a psychic power where she has to have sex at least once a day with men, and she can't have sex with the same man every day because she'll drain too much of his life force and kill him. So there's lots of sex, and lots of weird stuff. They're fun, though.

Ahhh, Lauren Hamilton. Took that long for me to remember her name!

Ah, yes, I am familiar with Laurel K. Hamilton vampire porn. Never read it, but I've heard it mocked a lot. :)

*giggles* There's a lot to mock. But they're fun books, you know? Not high literature, but definitely a fun way to pass a bit of time.

I did! Got there at 8, in surgery at 10, and on way home by 2. :) I tolerate GA pretty well apparently. Plus my nerve block is still in place.

Um, I was reading backwards and have now read 3 other of your posts which detail your day quite nicely! That is what happens when I work all day (no LJ) and come home and try to catch up on everyone's goings on!

Now how long before can walk again?

I haven't read the books, but it's not the books that frighten me, so much as the fangirls. NuttyMadam, anyone?

I thought about reading it just to see what all the fuss was about, but I found an excerpt online and ran in the other direction. Then I found an condensed version by a Mormon fan, and figured I'd hit all the highlights.

I did read the Hamilton vampire stuff you all talked about though. I also found them mindless fun, so I think I understand the appeal.
