A Fine Balance

Well, I did it, I got up early yesterday, took care of the Saturday morning chores and wandered off to Newtown to procure a Zucchini character... finding that I managed to bite of a chunk with some pretty serious chilli in it, the Courty became an attractive beacon.  I enjoyed a beverage or two while I finished off Mistry's A Fine Balance.  And ( Read more... )

Hello real Vasco...
Tofu thought that I would take offence at being compared to him... I do, but not for the reasons you would think. I think Tofu and I are similar, but very different, and while there are aspects of his enlightenment that I aspire to, there are many that I do not. That is not saying that he is not perfect in his own way, it is just to say that his way is not mine.
I am glad to hear that Homer realises that this book is fiction... and the best fiction is that which brings us closer to real life... methinks.

I read this book after you suggested it that evening of Damian's farewell din dins. I read it while I was travelling in India.

I loved it and then passed it on to my 13 year old niece to read when I got back home.

And now I'm going to pass it on to my mother in law.

It's an important book.
