Re the last paragraph of your entry. How can the scene at the house be the Watch taking Jamie since Jenny hasn't yet had the baby? Unless, of course they change that, too. I certainly hope they don't. I didn't care for the change in the mill scene, but I must admit the glimpse of Jamie's bum was nice. :)
You're right. The baby is not born, but unless they are adding a completely new scene to the story, I can only imagine it's the Watch. There is no scene of anyone pointing a gun at Jamie anywhere. And it makes sense since they've had that scene with McNab. So... maybe Jenny will have to go back because she will HAVE the baby?? LOL Or maybe she doesn't even go with Claire. Murtagh might come to help sooner. Well, we'll see.
The glimpse of Jamie's pretty much EVERYTHING LOL! But yeah, I wish they could have made a joke of it instead of going to the scars. I really really like the humor.
I don't love the fact that the show writers are adding conflict where there was none in the book. This episode was a chance for us to slow down, to get to know Jenny and Ian and for Claire and Jamie to move forward. I felt that Jamie came across as a bit entitled and spoiled in this episode and I feel like that goes against everything we've learned about his so far. As far as I remember in the book Jenny and Jamie concluded the argument the same day, and then he and Ian did the lairds work together in order to ease Jamie into the role. I really just wanted a calmer episode after everything that happened in the previous one, this was the opportunity to get closer to the book again.
[Spoiler (click to open)]From what I understand it is the watch, but they don't know it's Jamie so they force him to join them or something. I could be wrong and they take him straight away, maybe Claire gets knocked out? But this goes back to what I said about the writers adding conflict and drama where there doesn't need it.
I agree, as before. They are moving very fast and changing it a lot and making Jamie less mature.
I re-read the book on the parts covered in the series. At least part of the talk - re blaming themselves for their dad's death - was after the mill scene(but they had made up before then), and quarter day is even after that... so everything is out of order.
Remember, it's an AU :P A totally different story using the same characters.
I keep trying to focus on it being an AU. I watch it alone first to get out all the frustration and then rewatch with my friend and I'm usually more forgiving on the rewatch, I focus more on the parts I like. I also do it that way to spare my friend some of my complaining. ;p
Btw, would it be okay if I added you to my flist? :)
Yes, of course:D I would love to friend you too :) My user journal is only SPN rewatch reviews though, so become a member here too for Outlander and other posts :)
