Favourite song. FAVOURITE.
This is good. Realistic that they would almost appear to be strangers to each other.
The idea doesn't bother him as much as he thought it would, thought he still thinks Buffy could do a lot better. and this to me is the WHOLE reason Angel acts like he does in Season 5, not because he loved Buffy still.
And a nice, slightly hopeful ending, to me anyway!

It's such a good song. I love it so much.
I really think they would be, by that point. They had both been through so much.

And yeah, I always saw season 5 as much more about Angel's issues about Spike than his issues about Buffy. And I think even if he didn't love her anymore, he still respects Buffy and thinks she could do better, that she deserves better.

Thank you, I tried to sprinkle in a little at the end. That boy deserves it.

IAWTC. I always thought it came off as Angel just having all those issues with Spike than anything else. Btw, this was lovely and I definitely shed tears. Oh, Angel. =[

I'm glad you liked it. It's so hard to write post-series Angel in some ways. He's just lost so much by that point :(

Oh that is sad. So sad. But it's so perfectly in character and so fantastic. This I could see happening so much more than the comics. Angel's lost everything and he's always needed someone to guide him, whether it was Whistler, Buffy, The Powers, Cordelia. Without that, he's a ship adrift on the ocean.

Fanastic. Seriously. :)

I'm so glad you liked it. It makes me sad to think of post-Series!Angel (but not comics!Angel as that makes me angry) because I really think he'd be very lost, like he was for most of season 5, but even worse because he had lost that much more. Without something to guide him, he really does just go adrift,

Wow, this is bittersweet. I think it's so him to have to go back and find out for sure, that he's past Buffy. He seems that introspective and self-questioning without someone to pull him out of it.

But the ending wasn't sad to me, as he was accepting some part of the truth of what he has evolved into from all those people he cared about.

So...this is a nice line you walked. I like the character moment alot!

I'm glad the ending had some hope and acceptance there for you, that's what I was kind of going for.
