And he wants to. It would be so easy to bring his hand up and finish what he started back on Level Five. Create a crimson line across her forehead and steal her power. Take what he wants. But he can’t. Not when she’s looking so pathetic, so hopeless and lost. She can’t fight back like she did before. This is not the Elle he knew before.
“I want to make the pain stop,” He says in a surprisingly gentle voice. “But I’m not going to kill you.”
