Workshop: Writing Dinah Lance (Black Canary) by Merfilly

Jun 11, 2007 21:35

Thank you again, jen_in_japan for hosting this community for us.

So people seem to think I write a halfway decent Black Canary.

Still not sure how that came about. I lack so much of her canon, and so much of what I do recall is hazy and loaded down in a child's memories.

What did I get myself into? )

Very well done!

Dinah and Slade...I can't say I love you enough for that pair!

I've been very interested in Black Canary lately, and this is a good primer, having only read the first few issues of BoP so far. I was very interested to hear what a detailed history she has!

Thanks for this -- it will give my further reading a need background. :)

I had no idea myself! I got a headache reading this, and it's even well-written and easy to understand! :)

I learned so much about the character here. I definitely want to see more about the characters I don't know well (which would be, well, most of them, LOL).

Oy. It's astonishing how convoluted every single DC character is! I guess with 60 years of history or so behind most of them, it's bound to happen...*continues to boggle*

Wonderful!

Now I can actually say I know something more substantial about Dinah's history. *makes note to read more JLA stuff*

Y'know, I keep meaning to write her, but it'd be femslash.
*lol*

Very good essay, Merfilly! I learned a lot of things I didn't know about the current Canary's background.

I've only written her a few times but she has proven to be fun! I'm sure I'll be writing her again in the future, and of course if I need a Canary fix, I have you! :)
