Title: Maybe We’re Falling (prologue)
Pairing: Akame
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Drama, Angst, Romance
Beta: carboncastel (but not for this prologue since she’s already asleep LOL)
Disclaimer: Please just let them own each other already. I don’t.
Summary: After 2 years of making the US his career base, Akanishi Jin is coming back to Tokyo and is rejoining KAT-TUN. Time has passed. Some things have changed, some have not. Maybe we’re fallin’ in the crazy love.

A/N: A multi-chapter song fic based on KAT-TUN’s Crazy Love. I consulted three different translations of the song (xmonster1603’s translation here, JpopAsia, and nyctea62442’s translation here) and in the end I decided to translate the song for myself and see what I can make out of it, as well as use the given translations, so that I’ve arrived with a… hybrid of four translations, which I thought would best work for the fic. I stress that the lyrics are NOT the literal, direct, and exact translation of the song, but my dramatic approximations. If you’d like to read the translations offered, click the site names above. The日本語/Japanese lyrics, also displayed in this fic, are the ones as displayed at JpopAsia. Another thing, time setting of the fic is 2013, so that’s 3 years after Jin officially left KAT-TUN.

ただ君だけを壊しそうだった
何も無くて愛し過ぎて
Maybe we’re fallin’ in the crazy love

All I did was hurt you ‘til you almost shattered

My love for you was just too much

Maybe we’re fallin’ in the crazy love

Akanishi bent over and brushed off a spot of dirt on his suitcase. He was standing in the hallway of his Los Angeles apartment, the one he had called home for almost two years. He now had a lot of recollections of the place: raucous parties with his high-spirited American friends, unforgettable nights with the more memorable women (only the memorable ones were brought home), among other things. He cast a last, almost loving glance around the place, and exited the door.

Jin was looking forward to going back to Japan. For two years, he had worked hard and had very limited time to visit, and to be honest, he did not like going back and forth all the time. It was tiring, and he was working on an American image. The idea of frequent visits to his home country just sounded so unmanly for him. He was rarely homesick anyway.

As the chauffer (thoughtfully provided by Warner) loaded Jin’s baggage into the back of the car, the soloist checked his phone. There was no new message from any member of the family, but that was okay. He had talked to them the night before, and in some hours he would already see them again.

Jin always had the tendency these past few months, and as the vehicle made its way to the airport, his thoughts wandered, habitually winding up with Kamenashi Kazuya in mind. Some months ago, Akanishi had finally admitted that he was, in fact, in love with Kame. He realized then the simple yet breathtaking truth that he needed and wanted the younger man in his life.

Coming back to Japan was a symbol of how he had come to be honest with his feelings for Kame, Jin thought as he walked across the expansive airport lobby. Likewise, it was a symbol of Jin accepting Kame’s feelings for him, which he had previously turned down.

It was an extremely difficult decision. For his solo career, the US was Jin’s career base, and all the hard work was worth it, what with people recognizing him in the streets as what he had hoped for, an artist. Given, the reaction was different than in Tokyo where girls would scream excitedly out of sheer delight at the sight of him. But being prominent at all in LA was beyond Jin’s wildest dreams.

Akanishi stretched his legs as he settled in his designated seat in the first class section of the plane, sighing pensively as he did so.

At last, two years after saying his farewell, he was coming back to his home country. And three years after leaving KAT-TUN, while fans probably did not like the circumstances surrounding his return, Akanishi Jin was finally coming back to rejoin the group.

And since I’m on a weird roll here, here are DL links to Crazy Love by KAT-TUN in every version you can think of. Go here for Crazy Love album/studio version, here for Crazy Love karaoke version, here for the Queen of Pirates Live audio rip, and here to listen to a cover by myself and carboncastel. If you decide to waste some time and listen to the cover, I’d love to hear your comments over at YouTube! xD

Okay enough of self-promotion. So what did you guys think of the prologue? I don’t update conditionally (i.e. after a certain number of comments has been reached) but I’d love to hear what you guys think. Btw, after this prologue, the fic has, I think, 7 chapters in all. So, yeah. Thanks~!
