so im sitting here listening to the postal service, and i came across these pictures of my mother when she was 3 yrs old and i began to cry. my mother was the most wonderful woman, she took care of everybody before she even thought about herself, and she amazed me with her love for everyone, but 4 years ago she had a stroke and it changed us all

Hey honey! I'm back. I missed you bunches. Sorry I never called, but i didn't have service on the ship at all. I plan on calling you tonight, anyway. Well, as I hope you already know (but I'm going to remind you anyway), I know we're not as close as you and her, but I'm here and I always will be. Anytime you feel like you need to talk to her but can't, you can call me. Anytime you want to hang out with her but can't, hang out with me. I know I can't be what she is to you, but I can be your friend. You may not consider me your best friend because I understand how close you are to her, but I don't know what I would do without you. I lost touch with everyone else and no one else was there, but you were. You can't even imagine how much it impacted me when you dropped all your shit in the middle of the hallway that day so you could give me a hug. You've helped me through a lot even if it doesn't seem like it. You care more than anyone else and I am so lucky to have that. I love you, darling, and don't you ever forget it.
