I can't be the only reader who loves seeing Jeep/Goujun get more time. To my taste, it's good he hasn't been reduced to an animal, and this is a very pleasing way. I've always been a sucker for a Faery which has 'the enchantment, the old legendary wisdom of many worlds'.
In Gaiden, I never thought of Goujun as very young. Are you going with the version which has Jeep as the son of Goujun, or did I just miss it?
And now I'm all agog as to what Goujun(?) was trying(?) to tell Hakkai. Is it sinking in, to reappear later? Is he casting spells?
Your winterscaping is as good as ever, and fits the music scene so well.

I do like to put the fairy (in the old, powerful sense) in fairy tales.
And, Jeep is Gojun? I had no idea! I love Gojun in Gaiden and have wanted to write some Gojun stories, but somehow I never got the Jeep Gojun connection. Please, (when you have time) elaborate. And Happy Christmas to you.
Guess this wasn't so quick . . .

I can't find where Jeep turns out to be Goujun, I think it might be quite late on. I was pretty sure it was canon when I wrote it, but now am less so.
Merry Christmas to you too! Mine's the better for having something good to reread.

SaiyukiWiki has this to say:
* Some fans believed that he is the past incarnation of Hakuryuu, Hakkai's pet dragon.
* In 2009, the fan speculation ended when Kazuya Minekura tells the editors in Pafu, that Goujun is indeed Hakuryuu.
This is, er, well, huge, for me as someone who considers Jeep one of the Sanzo-ikko and an important character in his own right. Need to re-read Gaiden with this new datum in mind. Hmmmmm.
This will mean more Jeepslash.

Also, pardon my butting in on comment threads above, but:

This makes me very happy, see, because those of us who actively feel that way seem rather sparse in fandom.
This will mean more Jeepslash.
*happy flailing* There can never be enough Jeepslash. ♥
And he'd be older, yes. There's variance in fandom opinion on Goujun's age, ime. There didn't seem to be much debate that he was Definitely An Adult until the chapter where Li Touten refers to his youthfulness in a disrespectful manner (I don't have reference handy to be more specific). After that, he'd sometimes be portrayed as a very young man barely grown and struggling with the weight of his very important position, and he'd sometimes be portrayed as a Dragon of Indefinitely-Lengthy Lifespan who is much older ( ... )
