You never saw Live aid? It was huge over here, everyone watched it. I have no memory of it, i was 6 in 1986. The reconstructions are brilliant and the actors really look like the guys. Its very much about freddie though. No I never saw it. Queen was bigger in the UK then over here, or so I thought. I was in school. But never paid much attention to them. I don't even remember my brother following them and he was older. I remember then playing stuff on the radio, but really I didn't follow them. In fact I was more aware of Queen when SNL did skits and movies with them googballs singing old Queen songs. So I ddin't really know that much aout them. I didn't know that Queen was the only group that member wrote #1 singles. So that's a surprise. I just wa more intersted in alternative rock, etc.
Roger looks really good as a girl which is quite scary. I assume the conservatives didn't like them at all. It is unusual to have a band where everyone writes songs, usually at least one of the group is just a musician. Where else can you find a group with an art student, astrophysicist, dentist and electrical engineer?
We have what is called the Protestant work ethic. Most protestant churches here are funamentalist. It's funny because the Puritants who persecuted people in England were forced to the U.S. to provoke havov here, LOL. So for the most part, things are slow to change here. Currently there is a backlash. Mostly because of Trump, MAGA etc. So the climte is not good, no matter how the law is changed concerning Gays, etc. I'm indifferent, not beging a Christain. But the funny part is that Judaism (where fundamentalist get their teaching) there is more questioning in our faith then anything else. And it's encouraged. You don't have that in Christanity. The IRA is because of brexit. You need a border in ireland as half is now staying in europe, half not and part of the good friday aggrement is no border in ireland. If they do put a border attacks start again as the agreement is nul and void, but legally they must, the governments in a quandry. They want a backstop meaning moving the border checks before the border.
Ah...that explain it. I was wondering what was going on. This Brexit is a disaster. Even after the vote, people were horrified and wanted to change it back. I guess it will go in to effect in a month or so. Very sad. Once it acts, IRA will never back down till they get what they wnt.
