Agent blog guest post that is mostly old hat, if nicely condensed. But the ellipses avoidance in dialogue rule is one I hadn't heard before. I like it. Parens and ellipses are to be avoided anyway, and em-dashes used sparingly.http

While I was in the early stages of writing the massive epic fanfic, I read a rant against ellipses and promptly became hyper-conscious of them. Now every time I think I might want to use them, I hear that rant in my head.

I used to love ellipses, and now they terrify me.
