Very well done. I love this. =)

I've always loved fics where "George" sticks around. Either with Sam, or Jim. (Watch too much Supernatural). I've always been intrigued by how his spirit effects there development growing up.

How when Winona abandons them with their abusive stepdad, at least Jim has someone in his corner to "turn to".

And it's always good with these fics to see a morale. "Don't be afraid to trust someone." I may not have Jim's problems, but I do have his security issues on trusting. So sometimes these fics remind me of my own shortcommings and help with ideas on how to overcome them.

So not only do I enjoy reading these, I also learn from them.

Great job and keep them coming. =)

I'm so glad you've enjoyed these. : )

I don't necessarily try to include a moral in my stories, but do endeavor to end them on a positive note. :) I am glad you get so much from them, though. I think everything I've ever read that really stuck with me was something I learned something from.

Linger was one of my favorite fics, ever. And this is a worthy addition to the verse.
I also really like that you can feel the pain and horror of what Jim went through, but it doesn't feel like tragedy porn the way some tarsus fics do.

:D I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I didn't exactly want to write the Tarsus story, but someone brought it up in a comment and the idea grabbed hold and wouldn't let go, so I gave in an wrote it. But I just can't angst the way some people can - I love to read angst and everything, but I can't really write it without it sounding cheesy and farcical. But I'm glad this worked for you - I just loved the chance to go back to writing about my poor bb!Jim. :DDDD

This is such a heartbreaking read, but I love how you ended it, with Bones's quiet support.

:) Thank you! I've never written a Tarsus fic before and couldn't end it on a terribly happy note (what with where this whole thing fits within Linger), so I'm ecstatic you enjoyed it so much.

This was really great and fit perfectly into the canon you created for Linger.

I also liked that Bones didn't try to push Jim; was just a comfort by being there. It really worked that way.

And the Tarsus backstory was just heartbreaking. Well done.

Side note: I am now seriously thinking about spider eating and it's freaking me right the hell out, so thanks for that.

:) I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

It was a real challenge to have this fit the whole verbal-storytelling thing I had going, so I'm glad it worked for you.

(And, yes, I threw up a little in my mouth with the spider-thing. Thus the reason Jim and his kids only ate berries "on-camera". :D)

These are wonderful stories. I love Jim's interactions with George and how Bones reacted to everything. A beautiful treatment of an unplesant event.
*hugs*
