That was an amazing game and I'm so happy Japan won. I only watched from the second half onwards - I was out and when I came home my dad was watching it so I watched it with him. Not a fan of soccer and didn't really pay attention to the tournament - all I knew was that the US and Japan were to meet in the final. I thought the US was the better team overall and that they would win - but Japan surprised me by coming back twice.

It really can't get any better, especially in soccer/football (lol I call it both according to where I am/what announcer I'm listening to - I also do this with sweeper/goalie... Oh the pitfalls of learning the terminology in England ^^;;). It was a clean, fair game, and the ref was amazing. I was impressed.

The US was the better team but they played too cautiously too soon after they scored and allowed Japan to build up momentum and attack. It was a pleasant surprise and I actually would have been happy with either team winning since I liked both teams and was cheering for them both haha.

The game was great! Both teams played amazingly. I think USA's mistake was in going a bit too hard the first half and missing opportunities, because Japan really kept steady and then built momentum. Plus, USA should really think about having another goalie warmed up to play sometimes, because I think that the girl having an injury really messed her up come penalty kick time.

BUT ALL THE GOALS SCORED WERE AWESOME. I think the women's cup was so much more exciting in the final match than the men's. Less of a disappointment, except for the fact that people won't cover it as much. :\

I think that the US also played were on the defensive too soon after each time they scored which allowed Japan to attack back. Totally agree with the whole back up goalie thing, though another factor that the announcers kept saying was that Japan was able to watch the US take PKs and have an idea of where/how each kick would go.

The women's cup was definitely so much more interesting. I think the men's tournament gets hyped up way too much at times when the women deserve just as much credit for doing the same.

I am around! Well sorta, lol. I go on AIM at really random times (my schedule is so messed up, it's not even funny) and no one is ever on. Like now. At one in the morning. I miss chatting with everyone. ♥
