I'd been giving my two shiny new recruits some space, letting them dangle a little and mull over the idea of working for the firm when Amy's phone call finally came through. Interesting that she was the first to call me. I'd have pegged Tucker to be the one.

“Hello? Miss Morgan? This is Amy Madison. I…wanted to talk to you about those contracts you gave Tucker and I.”

"Yes. Have you had a chance to go over them thoroughly? If you need some help with all the legalese just let me know. It can be somewhat daunting at first, sifting through a mess of paragraphs and subsections." I made sure to smile and inject some warmth into my voice. Amy was a promising candidate and I wanted to get to know her a little better. More flies with honey, as they say. "Would you like to join me for dinner?"

Certainly wasn’t expecting that as a response. But sure, if I could figure exactly what was going on…

I bit my lip slightly, really hoping that wasn’t the case. I mean, from what I had seen so far, Wolfram and Hart was interested in people who had hobbies way out of line of the normal, so that was intriguing. It made me wonder what all kind of people they had working for them, and about Miss Morgan herself. But the thought of Tucker and I competing…. I mean, we worked together to summon Jezebel…it just doesn’t make any sense to me why they would try and separate us…
