Update: Dissidere

HAHAHAHA. I am playing an RPG on my android phone when I have spare time on the bus, and the player character is this blond, blue-eyed mercenary who leaves his hometown and childhood sweetheart to join up with a group of fighters (consisting of super-strong modified men) because he wants to be just like the leader, who has long, silver hair. But ( Read more... )

Ah, that was a rather sweet ending.

Battle scenes were all awesome, that goes without saying. The description really stood out in this chapter too, it was quite vivid and left a really strong impression. The four versions of the Warrior of Light were neat, too. I do love me a good time loop and dimensional folding.

And yeah, it's cheesy, but Warrior of Light is cheesy to a T. It wouldn't be in-character for him if it wasn't a bit cheesy.

\o/ It's finished! It was a fun Dissidia fic, thank you for writing it! (And more importantly, completing it! Which is altogether too rare in the fanfiction world.) I have enjoyed it thoroughly. My thirst for decent Dissidia fanfiction has been temporarily slaked.

\o/ Thanks for reading! I'm glad WoL was satisfactorily cheesy.

Oh, I have no trouble finishing fic. My issue is overestimating how much energy I have to expend on fic, and then going through long periods of burnout after all the obsessive-compulsive writing, checking facts, clawing my eyes out because why-is-it-so-bad-in-text-compared-to-the-pictures-in-my-head?

I am always amazed when you write longfic that's just consistently awesome without going nuts near the end.

Speaking of decent Dissidia fic, I was wondering if you've been reading Poisonberries' "The Door of Souls" on FFnet? Linky.

It's quite deliciously angsty, funny, and awesome in turns, and I'm loving it (even if I'm more or less ambivalent toward the pairings she espouses *guilty face, is the die-for-your-ship type*).

Ahaha, I get that with longfic all the time too, but I don't normally start posting unless I have a clear run at the ending. And I've got plenty of fic with rushed endings, too. The real disasters just don't get posted.

I haven't read that one! Thanks for the rec.

I read this at the urging of Sinnatious, something that I'll never regret. This was fantastic - cheese is my guilty pleasure, and everyone-pools-their-strength-together just gets to me, haha. I'm a sucker for teamwork. Your fight scenes are brilliant - they're frantically energetic, like (I imagine) a real fight would be, and you have the perfect balance between spelling out the details and giving a play-by-play. I love the pairings that you've included in this, Tidus and Yuna always make me grin stupidly, and Cloud/Sephiroth is, again, one of my guilty pleasures. I've played Dissidia duo decium, but I haven't played all the FF games involved - only X, X-2 and a bit of VII and XII - so most of the time I felt like I was reading original fiction, which this could easily be. I didn't have any trouble following the characters, which often happens when I read fic for fandoms I'm not familiar with, and I genuinelly wanted them to succeed.

And Now I'm off to read the rest of your stuff, haha.

Thanks so much for reading! I've a suspicion that anyone who plays Dissidia and can appreciate its ridiculous storyline or simply watch WoL without snickering has a healthy appetite for cheese. I'm glad you could follow the characters because I don't think I made any attempt at all to introduce them to anyone who might not have played Dissidia...

Have to warn you that I've only just jumped into the Final Fantasy fandoms, though, so my contributions remain limited. I do have another FFXII fic, but it's a very different style and doesn't have much in the way of action scenes.

But awesome, thanks! I love meeting new people in the fandom!
