Sukriti's Wedding pic-spam of awesomeness! Ok, Lenghas: My fav is the one that's the word this, in: Or this, with similar color changes. Love the mood lighting pics with the candles, and super excited that you get to change for the reception! I'd say go traditional like red/orange for the ceremony and blue, or pink, or fun for the reception. As far as jewelry, I love the piece that's the word soo, which is the long scalp-piece that hangs down on your forehead. Not such a fan of the giant noserings pictured, but don't you have one from your mom or something? The pics of white guys in kurtas are cute and funny...I think they look like Princes in them! Mostly, I'm excited to wear indian clothes and dance, so I better be invited!!!

Yeah I love that lengha as well, and I'm definitely doing what you said- wearing red/reddish orange for the wedding and then something probably either blue or multicolored for the reception :D As it turns out, the wedding itself and the reception are only the two main events, but there are also other smaller ceremonies and things that happen before the wedding. The most notable one is the "mehndi sangeet" which means, well mehndi is mehndi, and sangeet means song/music/sing along. So it is when the bride and bridal party all get henna'd up and sing and play traditional wedding songs and dance and stuff. It's fun! Oh, but the point was that that's another event for which we'd all need outfits! :D And what nonsense, of course your invited, foo!

oh and also, yeah the nose ring always looks kind of weird to non-indians who are unaccustomed to seeing indian weddings. Where my family is from in india, big nose rings are a mark of beauty and prosperity. And yeah my grandmother on dad's side gave me the one she wore in her wedding. It's like, really huge, lol. I'll prolly wear it as a bangle, but still have a pretty sizeable one by american standards on my face, too.
