I love how you use geology to mirror the rift in Giles and Buffy's relationship. It required an earthquake to seal them in and force each to recognise feelings. That's Ambition!
And I adore Ethan's motivation and the Janus explanation. That's just perfect.
A great story, well told with a dramatic cliffhanger (argh), and sexy resolution. Bravo!
SO worth the wait! Absolutely wonderful. So well written, and so true to character. I always love reading your stuff because along the way I learn a bunch of stuff, and come up with new perspectives on old situations/episodes. It's always so cool to google something you've written about and find out how accurate it is! So awesome! Thank you, one of my new favorites!
Ah, thank you for noticing those details. I tend to be a stickler for them. I tend to write of places I've been. In this case, I haven't been to Iceland yet, so I had to research the hell out of it. Now I want to go more than ever. The one hour layover I have coming up on my way to France isn't going to cut it. LOL
Love love love it. I never really noticed before that none of your fics were action/adventure oriented. Wonderful job though, as always. And I love how you wrote Dawn. You know she's one of my favorite characters and it's hard to find fics where she's not just a whiny little bitch. :) And I always love me some Ethan.
Yeah, they really haven't been. I tended to stick to drama/romance, so it was fun to break away from that and do something a bit more with it. Admittedly, I did try out a bit of adventure in the latest chapter of WDWGFH, so that helped get the creative juices flowing. I like Dawn. She grew on my at the end of season 6 and especially in season 7 and I love playing around with her relationship with Giles. He always backed away from Buffy when she asked him to help her with Dawn (seasons 5 & 6), but he still kept doing what he was doing, so it made sense for them to keep their relationship going post series. And who doesn't love them some Ethan?
Gyaaaahhh, I finally finished reading! Fortunately no tornadoes struck during my enjoyment of the completed fic! :D
This? Well, it was just great. Congratulations to you for doing such a brilliant job with your first action/adventure outing! It was exciting and suspenseful from the start, great pacing and edge-of-your-seat situations for the characters which mirrored the emotional upheaval they were experiencing at the same time. I was also damn impressed with your research. I know you are a stickler and you know I spend a lot of time researching even when information won't make it into the body of a fic, but there was so much content woven into this that it really made it obvious how hard you worked. From the Icelandic geology/geography to the details about ice climbing equipment, Paris-y things, mythology things and all the rest... research FTW

I actually loved how that all tied in myself. Joss never explained Dawn really, so getting to play with that was a lot of fun.
I did love my cliffhanger. I thought it rivaled many of yours. LOL
Thank you so much for everything!
