Smallville / Absolute Justice

I was quite surprised to come out of the shower last night to see the TV on Smallville because we haven't watched it in several seasons. I think I've seen one episode since Season 5. Anyway, my husband and I both enjoyed it very much and may continue to watch future episodes. My enjoyment I think was partly in listening to the Monkey's commentary ( Read more... )

Chlark (primarily Clark) got an uber-reboot this year for some unknown reason to the point they aren't even really friends or in scenes together anymore - my best guess is to downplay the AM and TW chemistry that was still going strong into last year. They actually showed the kiss mentioned from Obsucra (*so* cute) last season among other fairly shippy things, while this year Clark can't talk to her because uhm... he's suddenly in love with her cousin after abandoning her due to Jimmy death & Davis' (Doomsday) sudden but inevitable betrayal. Don't ask me why all that happened especially the sudden romance, as apparently Tom Welling can't even answer it given an interview he had this fall ( ... )

It was really crazy to see Chlark not being all cute and fun with each other. It is just All Business and that's kind of sad.

Forgot that Chloe was married. It feels weird. Aren't they only like 22 years old at this point?

Just for me, it seems weird that they're calling it "Smallville" and they're all hanging out in Metropolis.

I guess some things never change; reboots and re-characterizations just to move the plot in the way they want. This is why I stopped watching; it was just SO BAD from a storytelling standpoint. The acting (especially by AM of course) is still on point, IMO. The girl who played Stargirl was kind of awful though.

Yeah, it's is really sad. And pretty much this year only, really. They were definitely bff all through 6-8.

Chloe was married for like an episode, and then once everyone got better form the massacre, she got divorced. It was really weird. And yeah I think they are 22/23.

And they should have re-named it I think when they went to the CW. Heck, SV had already had 100 episodes.

Stargirl cracked me up with her pouty faces. I think I get them on story-telling in a way. The people who did the meta became the people in charge. You know I love my meta, but it's like, you have to have the people whom love the charactization and keeps it on point. As the initial writers bled off for jobs on real TV shows, you could notice the foundations of a already wobbly written show just kinda ...get worse.
