Pass/Fail Fuckery?

So did any of you fully believe everyone's reaction? Next episode has to sort through some of this cause they left the Carnie part of the plot line hanging a bit. At least I feel that way. What did ya'll think?

I enjoyed this episode.

Still not sure what to make of some of it.

Did some parts confuse you in a sort of fridge logic type way.....like how Mohinder effortlessly made that compass.....and how only Ando is around....and where certain people were or why cellphones weren't a major factor in so places....and even if parts were in Hero's head....even the surreal moments kinda had kinks. It felt like a double watch episode for me.

Mohinder was working on a compass based on his father's design back in India. His storyline picks up in the GN's.

I'm scratching my head over how Hiro knew Adam was dead.

Fuck, I forgot that. Thank you!

That's another one...unless he's actually in the after life limbo which I don't know how to handle...OMG why am I over thinking this, plot holes are their thing. I should just sit back and enjoy it.

Well, it's the same problem Heroes has all over really - inconsistent characterisation and making stuff up as they go along. I mean, as I said last week I actually quite like that the evil master plan turned out to be trying to impress an old girlfriend - that's actually more fucked up than just fighting normals or whatever, because it's so obviously doomed to faliure. But I really don't think that's what they intended for Samuel from the start - does it really fit in with him being so power hungry and "ambitious" for example? One could probably *make* it fit, but the show should be doing that for us, not the other way around! I think this episode is mostly going to make people think Samuel's pathetic because it looks like he was completly destroyed by one girl turning him down. I think actually he's been a bit crazy all series (accidentally killing your brother probably doesn't help with that sort of thing) but building up this fantasy as something that will somehow make everything OK, so it being pulled down has been the final ( ... )

I think my problem is I feel like they have this ultimate plan...but in reality they don't. I'm cool with how things are going...but as I watch I'm like some crazy canon person shouting "Inconsistency to the Plot! Butchering of character motivations!" but then I take a step back after I bitch out and go...I actually liked that so w.e.. Also, I agree about the doomed to failure nature of Sam's master plan. It was so much more real to me...Once in a blue moon you get a person concerned with people at large...motivation from a personal stand point is much more common and therefore much more real to me. Also the utter fail at him not knowing she wouldn't stay was epic! A bit of fanwank for him is acceptable. I think Robert plays the character well enough to get it but as you said they got spalaining to do.

Heh, my reaction also. I've given hope of consistency now though, I'm just trying to ride it out till the end of the season.

That was actually the bit I liked best. Idk, there's something about that combination of someone being powerful and controlling others but also having this childish fantasy that was quite interesting. I even felt a bit sorry for him when she turned him down - he looked so crushed!

We lost all consistency sometime around Sylar wearing suits and Peter leaving girlfriends in the future...I'm not even sure we ever had it.

Childish...I kinda like him described that way. Thinking back it fits him quite well. I keep yelling at the scream going "WTF are you doing? He's gonna fuck kill you! Or everyone else! Think of the fucking children! And WTF are you doing anyway! Why can't you explain that you want him but not in the woods?! Bitch! Fickle fickle bitch!" I'm glad we were right and she was a passing plot point...I never liked her.

See the thing for me was...I could believe a man looses it over a girl. Shit happens like that....but the fact that the other Carnies didn't start shit that what I couldn't believe....He just crushed a whole town after talking about peace and a new home...I know he's scary but it's like this show has no belief in power in numbers. Edgar was right, they're sheep. Maybe it's just me and my own experience that says you need to confront the depressed and crazy dude and fuck fear. But I still figured other people might find it weird that nobody even said WTF happened Sam when he came home just gave him a half ass stink eye.

I just thought he went straight off to that town plus the fact that most people in the carnival don't know what's actually going on because he's been lying. But the show has a terrible habit in general of just ignoring characters to allow the plot to continue.

Heh, is there any corner of Heroes fandom now that doesn't spend it's time moaning about how dumb the show is? It's quite sad really. We should write it instead. :D

"Carnie extra in the background give Robert a dirty look"
"Can I say "WHY?" while I'm doing it?"
"Are you crazy we have six different POV's to tell in this episode alone. You're not here to service the plot you're here to make believe for a second these hot characters are rooted in the real world were there are uggos"
"I'm an uggos?"
"Yes...your a pox faced Carnie Extra...with no lines...your an uggo"

Probably the Sendhil fans...there just happy he's back and not in any immediate danger. Ha ha ha.

Honestly, all the fandom needs a little bitching...it's better then quite. Poor Lukexsylar barely ever gets added too. The one I find dealing with it best is Sylar/Peter cause they just run into AU timelines and futurefic or Twiinverse AU and fuel it all with dark tension filled moments from the show.

Sometimes I feel like the writers are stalking the fandom...taking our good concepts and then writing them in but they come out awkward when they try to appease the censors.
