what is it about 'indie' bands calling themselves by the song names of other bands? i see this happening particularly with belle and sebastian song titles. i feel it's lazy.

Yup, it is! And there's people doing it with Moz stuff too. "The Ordinary Boys"...

somehow i find copying a moz title better, makes more sense, more iconic and such. i guess what annoys me specifically is people naming themselves after songs that came out last year practically. i just constantly seem to come across what i think is a recent song title that turns out to be a different band altogether. supposedly.

well, yes, these arent from last year, but still many other non b&s spin off band names are more recent, i dont know any off the top of my head, its just something ive noticed for a while. maybe eventually every track of 'if you're feeling sinister' will be a band of its own?? haha.
