I know I've already said, but I love this. From Dick's happy, relaxing break with his friends and then at Wayne Manor, to the almost shocking confrontations with Slade. It's all a bit like a sinister tennis match, back and forth, and who knows who'll win, maybe be destroyed in the process?

Oh, God! Poor Dick, trying so hard to reconnect, to crawl out of the dark, and nothing worked.

Ooh. Did Tarantula rape him in this 'verse? Because I can imagine Deathstroke hunting her down for taking what's his, even if her actions were what finally brought his little bird to his knees.

Aaaaaand,I'm back because I had to reread it and get all shivery again. *g*

I want to hug Dick 'til he squeaks for trying to commit suicide by Slade. Silly boy. As if Slade wouldn't notice? And the L word! Slade said the L word and I know he did that on purpose (even though he really does mean it *g*), giving Dick someone to turn to even though he believes himself to be too far over the edge for anyone 'good' to still love him.

You have me so invested in this pairing, I'm reading everything at least twice as it's posted. (I've rererereread so many of the pitifully small collection I've shared... I'm considering doing a links list for we_love_dick, pointing people at the fic I think is worth reading. (Anything to encourage more fic, DAMMIT!)

Thank you so much! I'm so chuffed you've been enjoying. It makes a nice change for me to write something darker and this is the perfect pairing for it.

I am curious though, you've hinted at Batman suspecting something will that come out? How closely are you going to follow cannon? Is Tarantula raping Dick and them running off going to come into play? Is Wargames?

I shall be leaving canon in my wake very soon, but the next chapter should answer at least one of your questions. It's just being beta'd now so it shouldn't be too long before it's up.

Love the way that the supposed tryst is becoming a battleground over Dick's innocence with Slade's obsessive desire to control/own him becoming clearer. And would also like to ask the same thing as the other posters: is Tarantula also in this 'verse? And what would Slade do once he finds out what happened on the rooftop? Is Dick's 'running away' with Tarantula also an effort to run away from Slade without her knowledge? And would Slade be in pursuit - of course, he would !

Keep up the good work and will wait for more.
