Summary: Kyuhyun has been ignoring Sungmin for a week and he wants to know why.
“Kyu…are you listening to me?”
“Huh?”
Sungmin crossed his arms in front of his chest pouting. Kyuhyun didn’t have time to see Sungmins pout. In fact in the whole four hours Sungmin had been here he had never looked at him once. Kyuhyun was too busy typing away on his laptop, and then switched to his Psp before once again returning to his laptop.
“Kyuuuu”
“What is it Sungmin?”
Sungmin uncrossed his arms and couldn’t help but smile. It was too hard trying to be and staying mad at Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun however just continued to type on his laptop not paying any attention whatsoever to his boyfriend.
“Friday are you doing anything special?”
For the first time that night Kyuhyun stopped typing and looked in Sungmins direction. Kyuhyun arched an elegant eyebrow in question.
“Friday?”
Sungmin nodded as happy as a kid in a lollipop store. Friday was their anniversary and Sungmin had been so excited to find out what Kyuhyun was planning. Kyuhyuns eyes were clouded with confusion for a few seconds more before a light seemed to go up. Kyuhyun leaned over towards Sungmin who felt his heart stop at their closeness. Kyuhyun grabbed his phone and started dialing a number right away. Sungmin tilted his head in confusion.
“Hey Donghae its Kyuhyun…Are you doing anything this Friday?”
WHAT! Sungmins head snapped towards Kyuhyun. He had forgotten. Was Sungmin not important enough? Kyuhyun continued to talk to Donghae while still typing on his laptop. Sungmin got up and walked out. He paused with his hand on the door. Am I not important enough for you Kyuhyun?
Sungmin expected a call maybe even a message but he received nothing from Kyuhyun. Friday came and still no contact from Kyuhyun. Sungmin slumped onto his bed content with locking himself away from the world. He didn’t understand he thought they were inseparable. He thought they understood each other.
“YAH get up!”
Sungmin groaned as Heechul pulled him up by the arm.
“But hyung”
“No but’s now get dressed. We’re leaving soon”
Sungmin looked down at the clothes that were shoved into his arms. He actually wished that Heechul didn’t have such great fashion sense. Looking down t the bright pink top in his hand he couldn’t help but smile. Well at least it’s a beautiful shade of pink. Damn Heechul for knowing his weakness.
Sungmin found it extremely out of character that Heechul wanted to walk wherever they were going instead of getting his boyfriend Hangeng to drive them. The look on Heechuls face kept Sungmin from asking. Heechul loudly started rummaging around in his man bag looking for something before he stopped walking completely. Sungmin didn’t notice at first but realised soon that Heechul was no longer behind him.
“Hyung what’s wrong?”
Heechul put on his most annoyed face ever that Sungmin back away from him.
“H…hyung?”
“I forgot it!”
Sungmin tilted his head in confusion. What had Heechul forgotten? Before he could ask Heechul was running back telling him to wait there. Sungmin crossed his arms in front of him. First Kyuhyun and now Heechul. Sungmin sighed. The stars shined up in the sky. Kyuhyun where are you? This is all your fault. Sungmin started to get angry. How could Kyuhyun have forgotten their anniversary?
When Sungmin closed his eyes he could almost hear Kyuhyuns honey like voice singing just for him. He opened his eyes. Great now he was hallucinating. He crossed his arms over his chest. What was taking Heechul so long?! There is was again, that voice that sounded so much like Kyuhyun. If Sungmin left and Heechul came back he would be furious.
That voice it just sounded so much like Kyuhyun. What to do…what to do.
Sungmin sighed before walking to the sound of the voice. If Heechul came he would just bribe him or something. It started to get so close. Could it possibly be Kyuhyun? No he was out with Donghae having fun. Sungmin huffed. Kyuhyun would pay for ignoring him the past weeks and for not being here today.
He moved a branch from his way to find a small clearing. He gasped. This place was absolutely beautiful. The grass was lush green swaying slightly in the light wind. There were rose bushed leading up to a platform that was in the center of the clearing. Sparkling blue water surrounds the platform except for the path of the rose bushes. Stars were staring to appear in the deep sky. All this wasn’t what caught Sungmins attention. The thing that did catch his attention was the person standing on the platform.
They had their eyes closed, lips parting to make way for the beautiful lyrics they were singing. Kyu? No it couldn’t be him. He felt like he should turn back and not disturb this person singing. Even if he really wanted to his couldn’t. There was something about that honey like voice that kept his rooted to the spot. They were amazing.
He eyes widened when they changed the song they were singing. That song…it was his lullaby. That had to be Kyu. There was no other person who knew that song. Kyuhyun had made it for him when they first started going out. A tear fell down his soft cheek. He loved Kyuhyun so much. The lullaby no his lullaby was drawing him to them.
Rose petals were scattered along the path he walked on. They stopped singing when he finally stepped onto the platform. A smile fell across their lips as they turned to face him. Kyuhyun! Sungmin wanted to throw he arms around him. He tried to but Kyuhyun held his hand up telling them to stop. Was something wrong? He suddenly felt angry. Why did Kyuhyun sing his lullaby if he didn’t even want him here. Sungmin turned around wanting to leave. It hurt to be near Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun quickly grabbed the retreating Sungmins hand.
“Sungmin?”
Sungmin turned to him with a glare. This wasn’t how Kyuhyun saw this going.
“Let go of me Kyu!”
Kyuhyuns pout nearly broke through all of Sungmins anger. Sungmin sighed.
“Let go of me Kyu!”
“Please just listen to what I have to say”
Sungmin huffed but turned all his attention to Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun suddenly felt very nervous. He made sure Sungmin didn’t show any signs of leaving before letting go of his hand.
“I know I haven’t been paying attention to you the past weeks-“
“You go that right”
Kyuhyun just ignored Sungmins comment.
“It’s because I wanted today to be perfect”
Wait what! Kyuhyun looked down at the floor to nervous to look into Sungmins eyes. Sungmin suddenly felt day for the way he was treating Kyuhyun.
“What do you mean?”
Kyuhyun sighed. This was harder then he thought. He sighed again before looking his beautiful boyfriend in his eye. He reached out and took one of Sungmins soft hands into his. It was now or never.
“Sungmin there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you. There is not a second when you’re not next to me that I don’t wonder what you’re doing. I want to be the one that protects you from the world. I want to be the one you come to when you have a problem. I want to live loving you and cherishing you for the rest of my life. I want you to fall asleep in my arms every night.”
Sungmins heart started beating rapidly. What was Kyuhyun saying?
“Sungmin…”
Sungmins eyes widened when Kyuhyun got down on one knee. He felt his breath catch in his throat. Was this really happening? Kyuhyun pulled out a box and opened it revealing a beautiful sparkling diamond ring.
“Lee Sungmin will you allow me to be by your side from this day on? Will you Marry Me?”
Tears fell down Sungmins face. Kyuhyun got worried when Sungmin didn’t answer. Had he been rejected? Sungmin hit him on his shoulder and he felt his heart break.
“This was why you were ignoring me?”
Kyuhyun because numb. Sungmin hadn’t said yes. He thought they had belonged together. He didn’t want a life where Sungmin wasn’t beside him. He felt Sungmin hit his shoulder again and he looked up. That smile it was so beautiful. Sungmin bent down and wiped the tear that had slid out of Kyuhyuns eye.
“You make me so crazy Kyuhyun.”
Sungmin wrapped his arms around Kyuhyun.
“I love you so much Kyuhyun. I will, I will marry you”
They shared a sweet kiss and Kyuhyun placed the ring on Sungmin finger.
“Was it perfect?”
Sungmin looked at Kyuhyun. The stars in the background didn’t sparkle as bright as his eyes. Sungmin sighed with happiness. He kissed Kyuhyun softly on the lips and smiled when he pulled back.
“No…”
Kyuhyun felt his heart drop once again.
“It was so much more”
Kyuhyun picked Sungmin up and twirled him in his happiness. At that same moment a wind picked up blowing the rose petals in the air. Yes they both thought, this was so much more than perfect.
