That Damn Crab

*there is a BRIGHT flash of light --

And then there is a crab as big as a house standing in the middle of the upper courtyard. With a swing of its claw, a passing valet goes flying. Women begin screaming and --

CRAB ATTACK!!!*

*starts to grab and order any passersby at the shops to get the hell out of the way, even as she shouts to the guard for reinforcements*

Oh, no way! *He saw the light in the distance, and it's pretty hard to miss the thing that's appeared with it*

*Checking his blades, he darts against the flow of fleeing people towards the crab thing*

*sees the morsel of food charging toward it and attempts to lance it with its claw*

-oop! *He prepares for a leap, launching himself over the thing's massive claw as it comes towards him*

I don't think so, crusty! *Pulls out both his swords, swinging them as he comes spiraling down* HYAH!

*the swords crack into the crab's insanely thick hide. He hasn't penetrated flesh yet, but that was a good hit*

Wooooo hooo, we got supper come to us tonight! *raises the sasumata and charges from the opposite direction Sieg's running in*

*shouting to the people around her* Just like any man, gotta hit it under the apron!

*aaaaaaand chaaaaarge (x2!)*

*Subala makes good on the hit to its underside, putting a noticeable crack in its shell.

But then there's a bright flash--

And Subala disappears.

Also, the shell very slowly starts to close. Right about now, Sieg or Jale might realize there's something familiar about that creature's dark shell...*

*Flips and lands on the opposite side of the crab, turning in time to see-*

Wha-? Subala?!

*He glances back at the crab, eyes widening as the wound heals*

What the- no way!

*there is a dazed mother holding her infant close to her and wandering around, oblivious to the giant crab*

*in the midst of herding away civilians, interposes herself between Bern and the crab, hand on the outside of Bern's arm* Miss Egan! You must move!

*doesn't seem to see or hear either of them, continuing to gaze out into space*

*Tir rolls his eyes and arms his bostaff, casually walking towards the crab*

"Great. I was hoping to get away from crab fishing..."

*and it sweeps toward Tir with a massive leg, intent on knocking him over*

"Now, crabbie, where's your weak spot?"

*Tir is outside its visual range but it's aware something has slid beneath it, it stomps about, confused--although this is a house-sized crab stomping about, so be careful, Tir!

The lower abdominal shell-panel has a crack in it from where Subala struck it, but the "wound" is closing rapidly*
