As I understand it, lj_bot is still supposed to be working on the Gizmo network. LJ no longer supports the Gizmo for LJ Talk client, but you can still interface with the Voice Post network using the gizmo client available from their main site.

That said, lj_bot sometimes goes down, but that's more that the feature is not working as intended, rather than a discontinuation of support.

i've been trying to access it, but lj_bot has been offline since i first attempted to use gizmo5 to voicepost a month ago.

i asked a support question about whether using lj_bot via gizmo5 was still an option for voiceposting, and was told that it was no longer available. i was also told that the FAQ about voiceposting via gizmo5 (FAQ#183: http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=183&q=voicepost) is incorrect and that steps are now being taken to amend it so that gizmo5 is no longer mentioned.

is there any way to verify that lj_bot is still available, and if so, how long it will be offline for?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, but it sounds like there is some conflicting information floating around. I'm definitely looking into getting you further answers on this; once I've got an answer confirming lj_bot's status, I will let you know and update FAQ 183 myself.

thankyou very much for looking into this further for me. i am hoping that it might be as simple a matter as getting lj_bot back online, which would meet my needs perfectly.
