is there a way for LJ to support Skype-to-Skype free calls for voiceposting?
Full description of the idea
i know that i can dial the existing access numbers via Skype, but would prefer to be able to voicepost for free (ie: Skype-to-Skype calls) if that is at all possible, especially since the access number for Australia would entail an interstate phone call charge for me.
i use "Skype" here as an example program only, as it is the one i currently use, and i'm not familiar with any other programs (apart from Gizmo 5 which LJ is no longer supporting). if there was a similar program that was able to support free voiceposting in this way, i'd promptly download and use it.
i understand this has been raised before (http://community.livejournal.com/suggestions/610368.html) but at the time it was rejected as lj_bot at Gizmo5 was available for use. however, as i understand it, this is no longer the case.
An ordered list of benefits
- potentially free voiceposting over Skype, which would be good for those of us who do not have toll-free voiceposting access numbers.
- may be more reliable than current voiceposting options, especially for LJ users in countries other than the US.
- i'm not even sure if it's possible for LJ to have a Skype (or similar) account that can be contacted for voiceposts.
