my naruto_news community has custom locked images. The following code is in the Custom CSS for the journal

The most important thing, in my opinion, is that these icons be UNIFORM across journals, because that's the easiest way to reference them for everyone. (I guess I'm thinking that if we have a variety of these, it becomes more difficult to tell everyone what they are...)

One can already override this with CSS, or override this in a theme in a bunch of places (JD did the research there, and will likely post a follow-up comment); the problem with overriding stuff in a bunch of places is that if the functions in question are updated LJ-side, your custom functions will remain un-updated.

So while it's possible to hack around and get the desired effect, it would be great if there were an easy place to do this in S2.
