If you accidentally click on the "Delete" button, you should get a dialogue box that asks you for confirmation. Only if you're extra quick on the draw would I find this insufficient protection against accidental deletion.

So, I personally don't really see a need for this.

I didn't know it prompted you to ask if you were sure, that's good to know, I can relax a little, then yeah, I don't see a point to this either. Unless you're beyond clueless and just click Okay because they usually do.

Hmmm... if you're not getting the confirmation dialogue at all for whatever reason, then yes, the might be a need for this after all. ^^

And I forgot to point out that regardless, I don't see how this would harm anything (except to possibly disorient people at first who are used to aiming their cursor a certain way, much like you're used to dialing familiar phone numbers, etc.).

I wouldn't click on delete button if there were a distinction.

Haven't you deleted your posts or documents accidentally even after confurmation?

As long as the tab order is the same, and the contrast is good, coloring them wouldn't hurt anything (and wouldn't change things for colorblind users). I know I've almost hit the wrong one more than once.

Not opposed to coloring the buttons, but I'd prefer if the Save button was made "bold" instead. That would make it stand out more, plus it would have no impact on colorblind users.

Doesn't seem that important as long as delete requires confirmation.

Good idea, I've almost done it. I click through those confirmation pages on autopilot sometimes.
