Be able to set the scheme to something other than the options shown on the Viewing Options (such as dystopia)

Actually, to be fair, I can attest that Dystopia did disappear for a while off of that list. When I tried to change my adult viewing / screening options from that page some weeks back it didn't offer me the option to keep Dystopia, so I ended up not changing anything because I didn't want to lose the style. They must have fixed/restored that since then.

Oh yeah I didn't even dare to load that page anymore in fear of Dystopia vanishing from my settings.

You might be thinking of http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/ , which *doesn't* show XColibur and Dystopia. Adding "?view=schemes" - http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?view=schemes - will show you those schemes.

I've always been a Dystopia fan, personally. I was really upset when they dumped it, but I've sort of given up on having it now. (sigh)

I sometimes use a skin that's Dystopia-like, but it's not really the same...

Actually, apparently Dystopia IS still available, but as I've just been told in the comments above the main default settings page pointlessly just doesn't show it - go to http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/?view=schemes if you want it back.

Yeah, I've been meaning to look into the problems with that skin for you but haven't been able to get round to it. :(

I didn't realise you were as interested in getting the original back as that - if I'd known I would have been able to tell you the link that midnightmadness just gave you. Oh well. :)
