You sound as if you're channeling L. Neil Smith.

Googled him. ;)

Yup, maybe if Smith were a progressive liberal mom with a LiveJournal style called Webley! Smith's web page could use a little spiffening up, maybe he should check it out...

Do you happen to have a link for where it was previously promised? (Not that the "proof" would carry much weight anyway because of changing priorities and stuff...it's also happened the other way around, with formerly not-considered features being resuscitated.)

in the past i had a layer or two that was attempting to hijack generator and turn it into webley. however, i seem to have misplaced an online version of it. :(

the toughest thing was making the layout of the boxes work in firefox/opera/ie/safari/camino on various platforms and versions.

second-toughest thing was the fact that based on the number of comments, the layout uses different images for the comments link.

i used a boxer-like interface for a linkbar that was printed in the lower-left corner of each entry.

i used the same function that prints entries to also print comments because it was an extension of the EntryLite class and used the isa operator accordingly to use the correct functions (you know, some functions and member variables are present in comments but not entries and vice-versa) for each object.

so yeah. that's about it. i might have a text file on my computer somewhere but i'm not at home at the moment.

Not to be dense, but what is Webley?

it's an S1 style. look at the OP's journal for a sample.

as k1 says, the tricky part of the port is really the colors in the comments.
