I know there are a LOT of people on LJ who want more userpics. But I'd rather this not be implemented. We currently have a(n) (arguably) fair portion of userpics. Increasing this is going to increase the load on LiveJournal -- particularly if there is no cap.

If LJ wants or needs to increase the amount in the future, that's fine -- provided these things are scaled properly. But I think the current structure is a good system. Sorry.

(Incidentally, the maximum allowed is 137 userpics, currently.)

I agree. LJ's been pretty clear that userpics are a big strain on their systems.

Please give us some method by which to have significantly more userpics! At least several hundred if not the several thousand that greatestjournal allows (for free no less). I'd gladly pay more if need be.
(And yes, I have no need for voice posting and would willingly give it up as well if that would help.)

I would have been very pleased to have had the option to choose which of my icons to keep active when my paid account expired - I think that would be fairly simple to introduce (possibly in the period after you are notified of the expiry date of the account and before the account expires, you could go and select the icons you want to keep by numbering them).

I am all in favor of a la carte paid user benefits, Chinese restaurant style. (Any three from column A plus one from column B. That sort of thing.)

I don't use voice posting and wouldn't miss gallery space, but more userpics? Nice.....

I totally agree with you, I don't use the scrapbook or text notifications and I would gladly pay more for more userpics. It's frustrates me to no end that there is a cap of 135, I am at 109, and there is nothing I can do but WAIT to get more userpics, and I am willing to pay!

Someone also mentioned the option to chose which icons you keep once your paid time expires, not that I plan on letting my paid time ever expire, but should the occasion arise, I would appreciate the choice as well without having to re-upload and posibily have all of the other posts revert back to my default.

AGreed, I don't use voicepost or scrapbooking and very little of my gallery. I would gladly give them up for more lj pics.
