I think the problem'll be the same as you have with the Edit Friends page -- if you display them all in My LJ, it'll still take longer to load. We're looking into figuring out why it's taking so long to load on the Edit Friends page, though, so that we can address the root problem rather than offering workarounds.

That said, I have no real opinion on being able to make the size smaller or larger just to be able to do so. *g*

On the Edit Friends page, it's loading a lot of information besides the bare link. My LJ takes a fraction of the time to load even though almost all of them are there. For me, it's just the ones after 'p' that aren't there.

Shouldn't be the problem -- rendering text isn't the issue, the problem seems to be rendering hundreds of LJ user heads all at once. Try turning off the contextual hover menus (at http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/) and see if it fixes the problem, or at least makes it better?

That was kind of what I meant, though I didn't know how to word it. Nor did I know that there was a way to turn it off.

It drastically reduced the loading time to 20 seconds. Still more than double the time for the My LJ page, but usable.
