I thought putting the pictures on the search results was a waste of resources, bandwidth, and quite honestly, my time. (And I have DSL)

I used it once, went 'bleah', and haven't used it since.

Can I turn the things off??

Similar thought ... currently, when you tell it to order 'by location,' it then doesn't tell you anything about where anyone's from, on the first return page. If you tell it to return 'by last update time,' it does tell you that. Is there a mystical location-based ordering that's not based on city and state? :->

Well, "Fort Wayne, Indana" and "Fort Wayne Stinks, Indiana" would both show up if you searched for "Fort Wayne, Indiana".

That means you can search by part of a city name, say "a, Pennsylvania", which would return all users from cities in Pennsylvania whose names (the cities' names, I mean) begin with 'a'.

Yes, but I was trying not to restrict it by location - searching for, say, folks who like pocky and telling it to return by location (not by update time), to sort them geographically. Which, presumably, it did, but I had no way of knowing who was where before clicking.

You're right. It should say the location instead of the update time, when that's what your ordering by.

Took some time to get back here... ccupguy March 28 2002, 13:02:34 UTC
But I was busy elsewhere :)

Thanks for all your comments.

I hope this one gets implemented, but if not...ah well, at least the directory is back.

ccup.
