Facebook uses the url "FB.com" so people can get to the site faster. "LJ.com" would be great for people like me who use Livejournal as a business site.

While I like the idea, I don't think it would make sense to spend a great deal of money purchasing the domain -- and there's always the chance that the current owner would want a ridiculous sum of money in order to sell... (Been there...)

I just think we'll have to live with livejournal.com... (smile)

Aw, that's a pity. I like the suggestion, but the price is out of whack.

Wow, I didn't know. FB.com was owned by the American Farm Bureau Federation though. That's a huge company. LJ.com is a real business, but probably much cheaper. Also, FB.com is one of the most expensive domains in the world. Maybe the average price is way lower.
