Short, concise description of the idea
IP addresses can be logged for comments, but not for posts. In cases of trollery, ban evasion etc this is unhelpful as the troll/sock may not leave a handy comment.

Anyway, I can certainly see the benefit -- as long as it's OPTIONAL (and can be easily turned on and off), and the default is OFF for most communities...
