This would be terrific.

I'm imagining it as working in a way that would allow things like the ability to crosspost locked entries from my LJ to FB, and/or maybe even to allow FB users I list as a friend to view my locked entries here on LJ.

I'm also thinking paid-only feature...

Well I did pay for a permanent account, so I thought it would work, but it has not. :(

Security issues aside, right now actually have two accounts: one personal, and another one being an "identity" into which you can log in with your Facebook account. If you choose to bind your former account to your Facebook account, what should happen to the latter one?

So Andy, back at release 69 when you added the ability for identity accounts to upgrade to a full account, a few of us in support discovered that if you upgraded an identity account to full status you could continue to use that identity to log in. Was that intentional?

what should happen to the latter one?
Ideally, I'd say that any comments, friends, community memberships, etc... that the identity account made should be folded into the existing regular account, so that all those comments, etc... belonged to the regular account.
I imagine it'd probably be easier to abandon those comments, etc..., sever any connections to/from the identity account, and merely let the identity be used as a login device.

I'll try to explain a little better.

What I'm asking about here is a feature that was added back last September: the ability to convert an identity account (that is, the account that is created when you log in with Facebook, Twitter, or an OpenID provider) into a full, regular, LiveJournal account. When you convert that identity account you have to pick a regular LJ username and provide a password, but some of us discovered that you can continue to use the identity login to sign into that regular account ( ... )
