Transfer perm accounts.

Short, concise description of the idea
One should be able to pay a fee to transfer a permanent account.

Full description of the ideaI know it has been stated that LJ would lose money if we could transfer paid time between accounts, but what about permanent accounts? A fee could be charged any time one asks. It'd be a ( Read more... )

At first I was thinking "But why not just swap usernames?" but then I realized a username swap would move the permanent account over to the right content... but with the wrong username. So that's no good.

Wouldn't it do the opposite? The content doesn't switch over in a username swap.

The content and permanent account status would stay together. The username would change. So that wouldn't work for someone who wanted to move the perm from their fic journal to their personal one, for example, which would be a lot more common than someone wanting to attach perm status to a particular username.

As others have said above, with a fee charged for the service, I think this sounds like a good idea.
