Yea, she just left earlier today, but I spoke to her a lot. She speaks everything so poetically it was really surreal to hear some stuff she said...one of the ones that really stuck with me was when she said something like "You have to make sure you wake up every morning with new eyes, so you can be surprised...because to be surprised is to live." Now, everyone always says stuff like "Every day is a new day," etc. But the way she said it (and I'm not doing it justice) was just amazing.

I could have told you that. When I was helping with classes this winter, they were all with her. It was a mind fuck.

no, sadly, she just left on sunday. She came for a Cuban Cultural Center conference. She was the closing speaker. She's probably coming back in march to present a new book though.
