I have spent years and years engaging with people, learning about them, listening to their stories, and answering their questions about my job no matter what the hour, the setting, or the context in which we're met.

I used to be a people lover. I very rarely met someone that was not somewhat interesting, for at least that moment. I would go to a party and at the end I could tell you how about 15 people knew the host....then I started doing t-shirts at Burning Man, and Flambe Lounges and at Dance Class and at my teacher's mother's dance class, etc. And one day I realized I did not have much interest in strangers anymore. Unless "you" look like someone I might be able to have an intimate relationship with of some type, I have no interest in you. Just don't have the energy to make the effort to meet another stranger. I just try to be kind to myself about it and love the people I love even more.
