Awwwwwwwwwww.

You just basically wrapped up everything so nicely in one perfect fic. They talked EVERYTHING out. They made up. And that's that.

Yay!

Lovely fic. Very tender and sweet. And it's exactly the kind of resolution we need. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Hee, thanks so much for reviewing!

I've been reading too many fics that happen right after she gets back that get me sooo worried for S3...I wanted (and needed) to go forward a little when they could talk out their issues. :)

I'm so happy you liked!

This is so beautiful - it's just perfect. I love their relationship, I love how you captured it. It's a perfect mix of angst and romance without getting too fluffy. It's very real, achingly real, but oh so lovely. Super well done.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad this felt realistic to you. I tried very hard not to let it lapse into corniness!

I love the tone of this fic. It's quiet and a little broken but there's hope there too, and by the time we reach the end that's the predominant emotion. I loved this prompt when it was first submitted, and you did such a fabulous job with it.

I like that Peter wants to be angry with Olivia, is angry with her, but feels like he has to be careful around her because of what she's gone through and at whose hands -- and that Olivia understands this and gives him permission so that he doesn't have to feel guilty about the anger. Emotions are complex, and their situation is so screwed up (I'm kinda worried about what will happen in S3 with this storyline!) and you've captured those emotions beautifully.

And that she misses him even though he's right there. Oh. Just makes you want to hug them both. (They really have come to rely on each other a lot, haven't they? Emotionally as well as physically.)

his snarky use of the term reminds her that he still knows how to be rude to herI like the use of 'sweetheart' in this context. ( ... )

Thanks so much for your lovely and detailed feedback!

I'm glad that the emotion of hope shone through strongest at the end, and that you understood the complexity of emotions I was trying to convey. It really is a screwed up situation, and I wanted to give it its proper due without making this into a multi-chapter fic.

And ah, the Greek saying needs to come back soon in S3! I keep waiting for it. It hasn't been referenced since, but I'm thinking it has to come back maybe even in the S3 premiere (since it was introduced in the last premiere!)

Anyhoo, thanks again for the feedback. It's very appreciated!

I read this the other day and forgot to comment. I love your fics, you write with such poignancy and meaning. And this one nailed it once again. It's not going to be all cupcakes and kittens when Olivia gets back, they still have issues to work out. Peter will be mostly upset with Walter but also with Olivia because she is the one person he would have never believed would lie to him, even if it were for the reasons she did it for. In some small part, he would have felt betrayed. And on the flipside of that, Olivia would feel much the same if he's fooled by her alt self and doesn't figure it out fast enough because he would be the one person who would be able to see that it wasn't really her. Gosh thinking of that makes my chest hurt LOL. I'm so not prepared for this if they go that direction. It'd take another season to just fix it. But what you've written here, it's so them and I think you hit it spot on. I could see this happening for sure.

Awwwww... This is the sort of stuff that needs to be said, but can often be very unexciting. You definitely made it exciting. A quiet exciting, but very lovely too.

I loved that you compared the whole situation to NDITOT! I never made that connection before. I suppose it's because I'm still waiting to see how Olivia will get back, and not focusing on what will happen when she does get back, so again, new ideas are wonderful. :)

AND - one of my favourite parts - you turned "sweetheart" back on its head, the way Peter originally intended! I understand why it's become a shipper endearment (I've used it myself), but I also know he's never used it since the first few episodes. To see it back here in it's first form is unexpected, and very clever. :)

Excellent fic!

Thanks so much! :)

I'm glad you liked the comparison to NDITOT. I love all the P/O goodness we got in that episode, and I feel like Peter would have to remember Olivia saying that he was good at taking care of people he loves and feeling like he'd failed her -- especially when she'd come so close to dying once before!

And I like I told others, I'm seriously waiting for the Greek phrase to come back. Maybe in the S3 premiere as a nice parallel or whatever.

Also, glad you liked the use of sweetheart! I've used it as an endearment in fic before too, and I've gotten so used to it as an endearment that I actually wasn't quite sure about using it in its snarky form again, hee.

Again, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a lovely comment!
