Yay for pilot banter!
I liked your Adama so much better than the current on-screen one! [I love that he's willing to turn a blind eye to Zak and Kara--poor Zak definitely needs someone rooting for him right now.] That is until he kicked Lee out. Frakkin Adama and his intolerance for others. Grrrrr.
And I love the call-back to Lee's season 1 idealism and his propensity for rebellion/anarchism. I feel like we're seeing a glimmer of that again on screen with his current resignation, but it is particularly interesting in this fic because you have the added layer of conflict in having a military brother who is equally rule-bound and obligated but much more readily obedient.

Yeah, I'm fairly pissed-off with on-screen Adama as well at the moment. He is such a bad parent it makes me despair sometimes. I think the problem is that he just can't accept that Lee is fundamentally a very different person to himself and so is not always going to act in ways Adama approves. No, he wants a clone of himself. *sigh*
And I love the call-back to Lee's season 1 idealism and his propensity for rebellion/anarchism. Well, that's one of the aspects of Lee that made him my favourite character - I just loved Bastille Day and the whole mutiny thing, and I'm so happy they've gone back to that on the show, because it always causes interesting conflict - because choosing principles over people as Lee tends to do involves a huge personal cost ( ... )
