OK, never mind my email... Anyways, just wanted to say (again) that I really loved this story. I didn't realize until it was over that Lex was dead, which made the story even more spooky in retrospect. Very sad but I love the promise, "One day."

I'm going to poke you both places, because I can. ^__^ (That wasn't supposed to sound dirty)

I'm very glad you liked it.

Right after I first posted it to the list, there was a reply or two that made me think I hadn't been quite as clear as I thought. It's one of those tricks when you're writing, though, that because you know something, you can't always tell that it's not clear to the reader.

Also, I know when the amazing keikokun first posted the stories, the old version was up. You may recheck this version and see if it's the same (and if not, if the revisions helped or not).

I'm kind of happy that you found it 'spooky'. It's not something I intended, but now that you've mentioned it, I can see how not knowing of and then learning about Lex's death could result in this. *likes*

I still love this. :) Lex watching over Clark so diligently and being there for him, and Clark *knowing* he's there... The devastation around them, but they're together, if only for the moment. With all their emotions so plain, I want them to be together much longer than just that moment! One Day, indeed. ^^ This really needs that sequel. :)

Thank you. ^__^ It's a little hurty and a little sweet, and a whole long sniffly (for me, at least).

Sequel? The only 'sequel' in mind to this is complete and utter crack. Well, silly with a side of sad and angsty, at least.

But I like the snifflies too! Poor woobie boys... Of course, then I like to hug them and squeeze them and get them together for lots and lots of make-up cuddling so they'll never leave each other again. (I'm, possibly, just a little pathetic on my hurt/comfort fics. ;p)

Lex is a mature adult. He's independent, self-contained. He's wrapped his own cracked ribs on more than one occasion, sewn a knife wound on another. His body fights off plagues and poisons. He's not invincible, but he's damn near indestructible through his determination and strength of will ( ... )

I'm on a catch-up mission now that my holiday fic fever has passed ... I'm sad I missed this earlier, but glad I found the time to come back for it.

Lex following Clark around still? Perfect. Because you know he would, if he WERE a ghost there's no one else he'd haunt.

It was so tricky of you not to let us know at first whether Clark really knows he's there, but the reveal at the end was worth the wait.

Also, a yearly date? You know I like that idea :) Halloween is more my speed too. Bravo.

*glomps* I very much enjoyed the labour of your feverish mind, though I do appreciate that you managed to come back for this. Let no fic fall behind! >D

An appropriate icon for this post would have been the one about "When I die, I'm going to haunt you forever" (or however it goes. :D). Because yeah, I don't think Lex would ever willingly leave Clark alone.

I think there were hints that Clark knew he was there, but I was trying to be subtle. I was also trying to be subtle about Lex being dead, but then I worried about the surprise of deathfic, so I tried to be explicit in the warnings. Or explicit enough.

And yes. A yearly date. There is an idea in my head that actually dates from the day of the birth of this fic, though the ideas did not arrive together (nor were they supposed to be connected at the time). Now they're twined in my head. If/When I get the other posted, they'll both stand alone. But it's kind of my 'fix' for this 'verse.

I'm glad you liked it, darlin'.

That is the icon. :D

I have heard from several readers that they did not clue-in at first and therefore had to reread. Which was my fear realized, but then it came with some lovely compliments about how it's 'spooky' and some other thing, and... well. I was pretty okay with that from this respect.

(But I do understand not wanting to be on the other side of that.)
