I'm very glad you liked it.
Right after I first posted it to the list, there was a reply or two that made me think I hadn't been quite as clear as I thought. It's one of those tricks when you're writing, though, that because you know something, you can't always tell that it's not clear to the reader.
Also, I know when the amazing keikokun first posted the stories, the old version was up. You may recheck this version and see if it's the same (and if not, if the revisions helped or not).
I'm kind of happy that you found it 'spooky'. It's not something I intended, but now that you've mentioned it, I can see how not knowing of and then learning about Lex's death could result in this. *likes*

Sequel? The only 'sequel' in mind to this is complete and utter crack. Well, silly with a side of sad and angsty, at least.

Lex following Clark around still? Perfect. Because you know he would, if he WERE a ghost there's no one else he'd haunt.
It was so tricky of you not to let us know at first whether Clark really knows he's there, but the reveal at the end was worth the wait.
Also, a yearly date? You know I like that idea :) Halloween is more my speed too. Bravo.

An appropriate icon for this post would have been the one about "When I die, I'm going to haunt you forever" (or however it goes. :D). Because yeah, I don't think Lex would ever willingly leave Clark alone.
I think there were hints that Clark knew he was there, but I was trying to be subtle. I was also trying to be subtle about Lex being dead, but then I worried about the surprise of deathfic, so I tried to be explicit in the warnings. Or explicit enough.
And yes. A yearly date. There is an idea in my head that actually dates from the day of the birth of this fic, though the ideas did not arrive together (nor were they supposed to be connected at the time). Now they're twined in my head. If/When I get the other posted, they'll both stand alone. But it's kind of my 'fix' for this 'verse.
I'm glad you liked it, darlin'.

I have heard from several readers that they did not clue-in at first and therefore had to reread. Which was my fear realized, but then it came with some lovely compliments about how it's 'spooky' and some other thing, and... well. I was pretty okay with that from this respect.
(But I do understand not wanting to be on the other side of that.)
