SNAPE and the ELDER WAND

I am currently rereading Deathly Hallows to get in the mood for the second movie. I'm up to the bit where the first movie ended and I am curious. Harry made the decision not to go for the Elder Wand, but to concentrate on the Horcruxes. I want to know whether Snape knew about the wand, either from Dumbledore or from Voldemort once he began his ( Read more... )

I don't think he (snape) knew about the Elder wand at all, or even the Hallows. From what i read of DH, it seems that Dumbledore's interest in the Hallows was a private thing - the 'quest' that certain wizards - usually old eccentric ones, undertake or believe in. I think that it was only when he realised that Harry's cloak was possibly a Hallows (or is that Hallow?) that he thought there might be a chance of reuniting all three. Remember, when he won the Elder wand, he was in the middle of a bit of a belief crisis ('for the greater good')and might have wanted the wand for himself for his own purposes unknown. the return and rise of Moldy and the gathering of both the wand and the cloak, i think would have made him have hope that there was more than one way of skinning a dark lord. I don't think he would have told Snape, for, although he trusted him, he knew that it was Snape's promise to kill him, and who knows what might happen to Snape after that. After all, he trusted Snape, but Snape does have an extremly dark past - maybe ther ( ... )
