Oh, man. The odd-numbered complete graphs for n >= 5 just blew my mind. Look at K5 and see not a star, or pentagon(s), or triangles, but a three dimensional object. Hint: pick any four vertices, and use the X-forming edge pair to define a plane.

Apple - iPod - Technical Specifications

OK, so I’m selling my 15 GB 3rd-gen iPod for $200 and am buying a new 4th-gen. With the student discount, the 30 GB is $320, and the 60 GB is $420. My library is 42 GB and will probably continue to grow.

That’s just pretty damned cool.

Now, I just need to figure out a rough speed comparison for evaluating ‘*[@attrib]’ against a given element versus using a treewalker to recursively build the equivalent array of child nodes.

Also: ‘ancestor::a’ versus iterating up the DOM tree in JavaScript.

One rather useful ability in Firefox and Mozilla is the ability to specify arbitrary CSS style rules to apply to rendered page content (or the browser chrome). Users can edit a file called userChrome.css (or use chromEdit) to get rudimentary ad blocking, force certain fonts/colors, and so on. However, extensions to Firefox can’t easily use ( Read more... )

A Plugin Idea for Gaim: Buddy’s Time Zone | Acts of Volition

An excellent idea, methinks. Pity I’m not a Gaim hacker, but that would be pretty nifty. I’ll have to check back on this in a few months. Perhaps, if nobody else takes it, I’ll take this as an opportunity to see how Gaim plugins work.
